I was able to get pretty close to where my son is stationed on the Afgan-Pakistan border with this map. I would have liked a more detailed map, but this was the best I could find.
As another reviewer had, I purchased this map before traveling over there and pinned it up in the study. My family said they felt more connected to me by looking at the map when I communicated back and told them where I was at a particular point in time. And very nice quality.
I am a US Soldier in Afghanistan, and I wanted this map for obvious reasons. It is clear with the familiar NatGeo fonts and colors. I would have preferred a landscape map only of Afghanistan, but this one serves.
'Cause there's no Michelin Guide map for Afghanistan... National Georgraphic is the next dang best thing, by far. Could've been more detailed, though (why only 4 stars out of 5 for what we'd ideally want) otherwise it beats anyhting out there.
I had order this Afghanistan map because my son was deployed there in March 2010. I wanted to be familiar with the different locations in afghan when I heard it on the news. I have actually learned some interesting things by ordering this map. I would recommend this for any mom. Thanks for the map. God Bless Our Troops!
